Anthroposophy
"Human Wisdom"
Weleda was founded in 1921, directly sprouting from the root of a unique approach to personal health and wellbeing called anthroposophy. Weleda products support the inherent healing tendencies of every human being.
Anthroposophy, a Greek word meaning "human wisdom," stems from the teachings of the philosopher Dr. Rudolf Steiner. This philosophical movement encourages the individual to view the importance of his or her life in conjunction with the entire universe. The forces of our body, soul and spirit are intrinsically connected, and they are closely related to the processes that occur in nature.
Thus, anthroposophy integrates immaterial, spiritual understanding into the scientific study of human beings and nature. It has given impulses into many areas of human life, including agricultural, medical, educational and artistic disciplines.
